Can I Drive A Tesla Semi Without A Commercial Driver's License?

The Tesla Semi cannot be driven without a commercial driver's licence.

A CDL, or commercial driver's licence, is required in the vast majority of US states in order to operate a commercial vehicle on public roads.

Because Tesla Semi trucks can weigh up to 80,000 pounds and pose a danger to the public if driven recklessly or by someone without the necessary skills, drivers must have a valid CDL.

Drivers are required to demonstrate competency in areas such as large truck operation fundamentals,

road sign comprehension, duty hours, drug and alcohol abuse awareness, and more.

In addition, the Tesla Semi may be subject to tougher regulations in places that already have additional criteria for CDL holders, such as age limits.

Last but not least, a CDL is required for the Tesla Semi just like it is for any other large commercial truck.
